Ustar I Speak proudly presents the Bay Area Speaking & Debate Spring Tournament 2025, an exciting event designed to help young speakers and debaters develop confidence, critical thinking, and persuasive communication skills.

Debate & Public Speaking Topics
Debate Topics
Fast Food Companies in School Cafeterias (Ages 9-12)
Students will debate whether fast food companies should have a place in school cafeterias. They will learn how to form logical arguments, structure their speeches, and defend their stance effectively through cross-examinations and rebuttals.
Cell Phones Should Be Banned from Schools (Ages 13-16)
In this debate, students will analyze the pros and cons of cell phone use in schools. They will develop persuasive reasoning skills, learn structured debating techniques, and engage in critical discussions.
Public Speaking Topics
The Importance of Reading (Ages 6-9)
Students will practice public speaking by delivering speeches on why reading is important. They will focus on speech structure, eye contact, body language, and vocal delivery to build confidence in front of an audience.
The Impact of Technology on My Life (Ages 9-12)
This public speaking session encourages students to reflect on how technology influences their daily lives. They will learn to express their thoughts clearly and persuasively while improving their overall speaking skills.

Debate Participation: Minimum 2, Maximum 8 students per session
Public Speaking Participation: Minimum 3, Maximum 9 students per session
