Course Overview
This course provides student background and exposure to the basics of the Spanish language. Students will begin language development through reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
Course Objective
In this course students will begin to learn the fundamentals of conversational Spanish including alphabet, vowel sounds, numbers, colors, days of the week, months of the year, greetings, and key vocabulary.
Learning Outcome:
*Alphabetic principles and vowel sounds
*Vocabulary development in Spanish
*Introduction to Spanish grammar
*Practical application of the Spanish language
About Teacher
Ms. Pauline is currently an Early Childhood Specialist. Her educational career spans 30 years and counting. Her love for education began early on when her daughters were in elementary school and soon found herself going from volunteering to being recruited to teach as an instructional aide. In her 30 years of
experience, she has taught 4th and 5th grade Bilingual and ESL students. She taught Spanish as both an elective and credit courses at a local private school from ages 3 to high school. She has also served as a Reading Coach, Reading Interventionist and LPAC Specialist. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary
Studies and holds Elementary Self-Contained Grade (1-8), Elementary Reading and Bilingual/ESL-Spanish Certificates. She has a heart for children and strives to always leave a positive impact in everything that she does.
