Course Overview

This course provides student background and exposure to the basics of the Spanish language. Students will begin language development through reading, writing, speaking, and listening.

Course Objective

In this course students will begin to learn the fundamentals of conversational Spanish including alphabet, vowel sounds, numbers, colors, days of the week, months of the year, greetings, and key vocabulary.

About Teacher

Ms. Becky is an experienced Spanish teacher who has had opportunities to teach Spanish at all levels in her five years of teaching. She has taught 1st grade Spanish immersion classes, middle school classes, and high school classes. She attended the University of Maryland at College Park and earned a dual-degree in Spanish Language, Literature, and Cultures and Secondary Education. She is currently working on her Master’s in Bilingual Education at the University of Texas at El Paso.

She has experience teaching in-person classes in traditional school settings and teaching online. One of her favorite experiences was teaching English online to Chinese students. As a non-native Spanish speaker, she knows what it is like learning Spanish as a new language. She focuses on making all students feel comfortable, challenged, and accomplished in every single Spanish class. When she is not teaching, she is traveling the world, eating delicious food, and learning about new cultures.
