Description

Course Description

This course focuses on meaningful communication in Spanish that goes beyond the word level. In class, students are expected to use the target language structures as much as possible by speaking and writing in order to acquire Spanish proficiency. Our goal is for students to first understand new language structures then to produce it when they are comfortable doing so.

By the end of this course, your student should be able to greet and introduce themselves, describe physical appearances, talk about activities they like and dislike, describe people’s character and emotions, and talk about their family and family traditions.

About Teacher

I am pleased to be your child’s Spanish teacher this year.  I am a native from Perú, and I am very proud to teach my language and my culture to your child. I studied special education in Lima, Perú and began working as a tutor, assisting children with learning difficulties.  I moved to the US with my family and began teaching Spanish and developing lessons for kindergarten through high school curriculums. I have also worked as a Spanish Editor and writer. I love working with kids and I am so passionate about teaching in a way that is meaningful and creative. I believe in the importance of exposing children to a multicultural learning environment, in addition to having fun while learning a new language. It is an honor to be your child’s Spanish teacher!
