Introduction
A writing program designed to give students the edge in school by improving writing skills needed to be eloquent , academic, critical thinkers.
This writing program is designed to assist students of all levels deliver a well thought out, organized, creative or academic essay for school or supplemental courses. With the help from expert teachers well versed in the writing process, teachers will explore with the students, ways to improve their writing by examining and editing for spelling, grammar issues and word choice . Teachers will also communicate with students by providing ample feedback on constructing a strong thesis statement, find ways to better develop their paper in an orderly fashion according to the thesis and suggest how to find reputable sources to create a stronger essay.
The goal of the writing program is to help students find their own voice and communicate in an academic way without losing touch of who they are . Together, with the help of our expert teachers, we will guide students towards becoming better writers, thinkers and speakers , all which are necessary skills to be successful in the 21st century .

How Ustar teachers review students’ writings?
Ustar writing teachers will review students’ submissions and pay attention to things such as sentence structure, word choice, voice, spelling, paragraph and etc.. These revisions will be done in a different color, and the edit system will be strike through = delete this part, italicized = fixed spelling, bold = reworded/added words.
Ustar writing teachers will also be leaving some comments at the end of their submission; these are intended for more significant suggestions, such as what they could elaborate on or focus on when revising their submission. We will be keeping a copy of each student’s initial submission so that they can compare their final draft to it and see how much the writing has improved/been added upon.
What to write?
Ustar writing teacher publish writing prompts bi-weekly. Students can choose the writing topics from those prompts. Students also can submit the writing homework or anything you’re interested to write.
Sample writing prompts:
Grade 2:
– What’s the most important thing you would like to do this fall?
– Write a letter to your principal about a project that could be done to improve your school. Describe your idea and try to convince him why it would be the most helpful.
– Would you rather have an extra arm or an extra leg? Why? How would it help you in your daily life? How would it get it the way? What would the people around you think?
Grade 3:
– What would you do if you suddenly woke up in another country and no one could understand a word you said? How would you get back home?
– Who is the first friend you ever made? What did you do together? Are you two still friends now? If so, how has your friendship with them changed?
– Recall either your best day or your worst day ever. What happened that day? What were your emotions like?
Grade 4:
– Think about a gift that you would like to receive. Who gave you the gift? What makes this gift so special? What you would do with this gift?
– What is a fun activity that you remember doing with your family? Who were the family members involved? Where did it take place? What made it so fun?
– Invent a monster and describe it in detail. Where does it live? What does it eat? What does it do? How does it look? How do people react when they see it? How do other monsters react to it?
Grade 5:
– Describe how you believe you have matured in the past year.
– Suppose you could build your own theme park. Your budget is unlimited, so you can create any type of park you like. What type of theme park would you create to attract as many visitors as possible? What can visitors see and do there and what makes it so interesting?
– You are writing a travel guide for kids visiting your city. What places do you think they should visit? Try to think of at least three places to recommend.
Grade 6:
– Describe your favorite character from any book you’ve ever read. Why is this character your favorite? What are their traits? Do you relate to this character? If so, how? If not, why not?
– When you are in a bad mood, what do you do to cheer yourself up? How does this help you feel better? Have you ever been in a situation where you’ve been unable to overcome a bad mood? How do you deal with that?
– What is something most people don’t know about you? Why do people not know this? How would your life change if more people knew about this?
Grade 7:
– What is the worst thing a person can do to another person? Why is this the worst thing? If you saw this happen, how would you feel? What are some ways that you could help the person experiencing it?
– You have one week to do whatever you want, all-expenses-paid. What things would you want to do? Where would you go? Why would you choose to do these things?
– If technology didn’t exist, what would you do with your time? How much would your life be changed? Would you be able to function in a technology-less society?
