Lesson HM(Recent)#4 Revised

Long ago, many tales were told and passed on from generations of storytellers . A prominent story is the Tale of the Seven Ravens. In the Tale of the Seven Ravens, the genre of this story is fictional fantasy. One leading reason is that the brothers in the story magically turn to ravens. In the real world, this is impossible to happen ; there is no evidence that humans can actually turn to ravens. This is supported when in the end of the story, the brothers magically turn to humans again when the sister runs toward them. Living things stay as what they are, and cannot change into another species. Another reason why this story is fantasy is that there is no logical explanation about how this can actually happen. Usually , other types of fiction, such as realistic fiction and sci-fi, have logical reasonings why people can make things possible. However, fantasy cannot be logically explained. There is typically no basis for scientific reasoning. The smartest human cannot logically find an explanation that can explain why boys turn to crows, as in the story. The final reason why this story is fantasy is only imagined and passed down,n ot written in historical records or such. Sci-fi can be explained because in the future, spaceships, aliens, and laser guns are actually possible to use and discover. Years later, these imaginary items and world could become a reality. By contrast, fantasy cannot actually be designed or discovered, and it is only formed in the mind, just as people think that ghosts exist. In the story, the imagination happens when the brothers turn to crows. Men and women cannot make other humans turn into other living species; it is impossible to do such thing. In conclusion, the story is fantasy because it includes magic, cannot be logically explained, and is imagined.
