In the book, A Wind in the Door by Madeleine L’Engle, the author’s purpose is to entertain because this is a fictional book. As there might be real people who actually experience the same things the main character experiences, there was no physical confirmation.

Even if there was a physical confirmation, the book would still be entertaining fiction because the rest of the book talks about dragons and other planets, which are elements of fiction. The author’s moral or statement in the book is probably something like” One person can change the world without knowing it.” because the main character saves her brother, not knowing she actually saves the world.

In conclusion, the author’s purpose for writing the book A Wind in the Door is to entertain and give a moral.
