Video Games to Me

6/18/19

Video games.  I find these to be a huge part in my life.  They provide some things that I don’t find really anywhere else.  They provide a different world in which you can do things that you can’t do in this one.  You want to fight as a giant war ship? Play World of Warships. Do you want to kill terrorists in team fights? Play Counter-Strike.  Do you want to create your own battle replicas and fight in them? Play Ultimate Epic Battle Simulator. Do you want to play in strategic team fights? Play Overwatch  As you can see, video games are great for going in to other worlds that aren’t this one. But for me, that isn’t just what it is. I also helps me get rid of frustration, trains my strategy, reaction time, and allows me to pass the time by quick.  Whenever I get super bored, I find that video games help me spend thirty or more minutes without even realizing it. I’ll be playing at 9:00 and then look at the clock again and it’s already 9:37. For a lot of video games, strategy is really important.  Especially for team based ones. If, for example, you try to attack an enemy team, but your attack is not coordinated, the fight will fail. An example for this would be if you go in to fight, but the team is still far away and can’t back you up, then you will get overwhelmed by the enemy and get destroyed.  But if you attack as a team, your chances are better because it’s harder to overwhelm say 6 people rather than 1 or 2. Reaction times are also important because if you don’t have fast enough reaction times, you will miss crucial shots on an enemy that could sway the whole game. It’s also amazing to see how video games have progressed over the years.  From the mid 2000s to now, the graphics have changed a lot thanks to new technology in computers that makes the computers stronger allowing them to process more information faster. This allows for higher frame rates and better graphics. I see that a lot of people miss the science and technology that is put behind each new computer or console. I find computers really interesting and how they relate to video games is also super cool.  The way computers have evolved from only doing a few processes a second to being able to do billions in a second really shows how quickly science is progressing. Overall, I find that video games are a really big part of my life and how they relate to computers is amazing.

Grade 100/100. Hi Gavin, great job describing the relationship between computers and video games! I’m glad video games are a positive and influential part of your life.
