Course Description 

This online AP Spanish Language and Culture part 1of 3 courses is an advanced language course in which students expand the Spanish Language proficiencies already acquired in Spanish 1, Spanish 2 and Spanish 3. In this course they will expand their cognitive, analytical and communicative skills. This AP Spanish Language and Culture part 1 course is part of set of 3 courses that aims to prepare student for the College Board’s AP Spanish Language and Culture exam.  These 3 courses rely on the 3 modes of communication (Interpersonal, Interpretive and Presentational) as defined in the Standards for Foreign Language Learning in the 21st Century.
These 3 courses are designed as an immersion experience and they are conducted almost exclusively in Spanish. In addition, all student work, practices, projects, participation, and assessments are in Spanish.

These courses teach language structures in context and focuses on the development of fluency to convey meaning. Students explore culture in both contemporary and historical contexts to develop an awareness and appreciation of cultural products, practices, and perspectives.

These courses also make great use of the Internet for updated and current material

Students should have master the knowledge acquired in Spanish 1, Spanish 2 and Spanish 3 courses

About Teacher

Mr. Jonathan lives in Dania Beach, close to Miami. This will be his 18th year teaching Spanish and 9th year teaching online in virtual schools. He has a BA in Hispanic Culture and Language from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. He has a Masters of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction and a teaching certification. He also has a Masters in Spanish from the University of Jaén and I have a Masters in Game Creation, Production & Management from the University of Advancing Technology. He has taught Spanish, English, Italian, French, German, Japanese, AP Spanish, AP Art History, AP Art Studio, AP English Language and Composition in many different settings.
