Course Description
This online Exploratory course is a World language course in which students learn basic structures in 5 world languages (Italian, French, German, Spanish and Japanese)
In this exploratory course the students will expand their cognitive, analytical and communicative skills using 5 different languages.
This course exposes the students to 3 modes of communication (Interpersonal, Interpretive and Presentational) as defined in the Standards for Foreign Language Learning in the 21st Century.
The student will practice interpreting, exchanging, and presenting information, concepts and ideas both within the online classroom and beyond on a variety of topics including connections to other subject areas; and they will further develop an understanding of the relationship among the products, practices and perspectives of other world cultures.
In addition, students will develop an insight into their own language and culture.

This course is for students in the Elementary school levels K-5.
Learning outcome
- Listen, read, understand, and interpret a basic-variety of authentic Italian, French, German, Spanish and Japanese-language materials.
- Demonstrate basic proficiencies in the languages covered.
- Gain basic knowledge and understanding of the cultures of the languages covered in this course
- Develop insights into the nature of the formation of the 5 different languages mentioned and their cultures.
- Use the material learned to participate in basic conversations in their communities, at home, and around the world.
- Be ready, more inform and prepare to make a language selection and further develop in their High school years.
About Teacher
Mr. Jonathan lives in Dania Beach, close to Miami. This will be his 18th year teaching Spanish and 9th year teaching online in virtual schools. He has a BA in Hispanic Culture and Language from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. He has a Masters of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction and a teaching certification. He also has a Masters in Spanish from the University of Jaén and I have a Masters in Game Creation, Production & Management from the University of Advancing Technology. He has taught Spanish, English, Italian, French, German, Japanese, AP Spanish, AP Art History, AP Art Studio, AP English Language and Composition in many different settings.
