Description

Course Description

This course focuses on meaningful communication in Spanish that goes beyond the word level. In class, students are expected to use the target language structures as much as possible by speaking and writing in order to acquire Spanish proficiency. Our goal is for students to first understand new language structures then to produce it when they are comfortable doing so.

By the end of this course, your student should be able to greet and introduce themselves, describe physical appearances, talk about activities they like and dislike, describe people’s character and emotions, and talk about their family and family traditions.

She attended the University of Maryland at College Park and earned a dual-degree in Spanish Language, Literature, and Cultures and Secondary Education. She is currently working on her Master’s in Bilingual Education at the University of Texas at El Paso.

She has experience teaching in-person classes in traditional school settings and teaching online. One of her favorite experiences was teaching English online to Chinese students. As a non-native Spanish speaker, she knows what it is like learning Spanish as a new language. She focuses on making all students feel comfortable, challenged, and accomplished in every single Spanish class. When she is not teaching, she is traveling the world, eating delicious food, and learning about new cultures.
